State of the Future: 2025 and Beyond
On the 7th January 9am – 10:30am ET I will make a State of the Future address followed by conversations with some extraordinary visionaries including my friends Jeff Booth and Yuri Van Geest. We will discuss possibilities and probabilities for 2025 and beyond across multiple domains including economics, technology, the international order, culture and more.
Whilst I remain realistic that we can co-create infinite possibilities, we are faced by deadly serious challenges which we must discuss. 2025 might be exceptionally chaotic in various areas including the politics of the USA (maybe the US government will even unravel before our session), international geo-politics, the economy (markets are historically expensive), technology advances such as AI and culture.
However, I believe we are at the end of a civilization and the dawn of something new. We need to access the human imagination and author new stories to create desirable futures.
“Hard times are coming, when we’ll be wanting the voices of writers who can see alternatives to how we live now, can see through our fear-stricken society and its obsessive technologies to other ways of being, and even imagine real grounds for hope. We’ll need writers who can remember freedom — poets, visionaries — realists of a larger reality.”
–Ursula K. Le Guin
